Chris Jaccard, CFP®, CFA is a wealth and financial advisor providing customized strategies to individuals and families since 1998.

Chris took a personal interest in finance at a young age and began managing his stock portfolio and preparing his own tax return in his early teens.  Further pursuing this interest, he discovered how important a professional with broad knowledge and expertise could be in coordinating a family’s financial strategy; that an independent, commission-free Certified Financial Planner™ certificant would be a key partner for successful families.  As a long-time San Diegan, he didn’t have far to go — San Diego State University was the first university in the nation to offer an AACSB accredited, CFP Board-Registered financial planning program.

After obtaining the CFP® designation and working for several years, Chris found a need to better understand increasingly complex investment products and strategies. He enrolled in the CFA program, a rigorous multiyear curriculum covering a broad array of investing matters. Earning the CFA® charter has helped him in guiding asset allocation policy and managing client accounts.

Chris joined Financial Alternatives, Inc. in 2002, and now helps to oversee both the financial planning and investment management divisions of the firm. He enjoys a variety of outdoor sports and world travel, as well as simply enjoying local treasures like Balboa Park and our beaches with his wife, two young kids, and an ever-hungry beagle.
